Hello-ween!

Normally, I would never, ever do this, but I'm pretty proud of my Halloween look this year, so I'm posting some pictures. Of me. On the internet. Crazy.

What an excellent idea for a snake-lover like yourself! (I'm having flashbacks to the year you dressed up as Autumn.)

I love it! Your hair looks awesome. You were really channeling Medusa in that last picture too.

That's fabulous! Obviously, the snakes are cool, but the make-up is pretty classy. I was thinking more wood-nymph until I saw the overhead view. Congratulations on your photographic internet debut.

Wow, thanks everybody!

I was thinking about going around with Perseus's head, but that got a bit complicated. This was complicated enough, even though it wasn't very.

Amy, keeping them on there is a two part process. First, that knot on top of my head? That's not MY hair. I bought a piece. *grin* I set it on a sandbag last night (not having a dummy head to work on) and twisted the different sections in various ways and wove the snakes through those twists. Those snakies are held on with bobby pins and hair twisted over the top of them. Then the ones in front and on the back of my head are kept there by wire threaded through their bellies and then wound around bobby pins. So basically, the short answer is lots and lots and LOTS of bobby pins. And then some more.

Special thanks to Kristen who went with me to Sally's last night to get the hair and had the idea to do the twists rather than the braids I was originally going for. (She also braided the piece initally, but once I got it on to see how it might look and then took it off again, they were pretty much destroyed).

Now if we could have only come up with a way to make them all suddenly squirm...that would've been classic.

Ewwwwww! Well, maybe some of those jointed wooden snakes. Those would move around. Grody. Hey, as long as I don't have to see it in person, whatevs. :) I mean, it *would* be cool.

This is totally gross and a really awfull idea! That being said, You look really cool, shiny and probably kinda sexy in a way your mother doesn't want to think about. Glad you have a friend willing and able to help achieve this and like Amy: as long as I don't have to actually see it it is good. Your Grandmother Park would have got out her gun or a large well-yeilded hoe! But she also would have laughed and been proud.
